How many generations

Hello,

I got a tamagotchi for my dad for christmas last year (2004) He's done really well with it and it hasn't died yet. He's on generation 28 and asked me to find out what the longest living (generations wise) tama is. I tried searching the posts but didn't find anything.

WOW. 28 is a really long time. I was just thinkin about asking that question. 28 is definitely the longest I've heard of.

We had a discussion a while ago. None of us have reached the max generation, but some possibilities are: 99, 999, 255(a common limit in computers), and 9999.

Dang your dad must really love his Tama!

EDIT: And since none of us have reached the max generation, nobody knows what happens when your go one more generation above it. Perhaps it resets the generation count(most likely), or just stays there, or in an unlikely scenario, he gets a super secret character none of us know about ^_^
