how to you choose your charactor?

could someone plz help me.. i don't know how to change the Tama charactor.. i debugged it ..

when it hatches, it should say boy or girl. then it will show u 1 of the babies push 1 of the buttons(i cant remember wich 1) and it will show u a the other type of baby. keep pushing that button and it will show u all the char. push B on the char. u want. u should have that char.
