If so, does she just bring the same tamagotchi back, or will it be a different one? Does the person your tama "falls in love with" matter?

The matchmaker will come later, she will probably bring a different character, the character a Tama marries affects which family a future Tama might grow up into, and honey is for making Tamas fall in love if they both use it before connecting.

This method is not proven. And I believe the character your tama marries didn't even affect your newborn tama. The thing that affects your newborn tama is your skill points.
