I believe it is worth it.
The characters are great and there are some classic characters (Mametchi, Memetchi, Kutchipatchi, etc) along with some new additions such as Lavilutchi and Kiraratchi. The difference between the Tamagotchi Plus Color and the Tamagotchi iD is not a real lot, you can't plant seeds in the iD but you can decorate you're house theme.
What makes the Tamagotchi iD alot more fun is collecting you're characters TaMaToMo letters. These can be collected by doing certain things with you're adult character such as feeding them a certain food or having them play with an item.
Another thing I absolutely loved is the characters are simple to get. A few care misses can get you the adult you want, want a Mametchi? Easy! Just get no care misses with you're toddler nor teen. Enjoy you're iD if you get one! (I got the green one!)
