Is my tama malfunctioning?

Ok, so I connected my v3 to a v1 memetchi ( ) but it showed up as a nazotchi in my v3's friend's list... I looked on the v3 charachter chart but it says that memetchi IS on v3's! Why does my v3 tama not have memetchi programmed into it??

The same thing happened to my friend Blanca's tamagotchi. Maybe it's something to do with the secret character.
