Unfortunately, I have a Tamagotchi Connection Version 3.

To get Dorotchi on V3, be on an even (2, 4, 6 etc) Generation, and get Mizutamatchi by taking average care of the baby - feed and discpiline but let 2 or so poops build up before you clean it. Take okay care of the child and hopefully you'll get Hashitamatchi. Then take really good care all the time - pause when you are not watching it. That's how I got Dorotchi.

Yes, there are ways to get certain characters. It's not random. The character you will get depends mostly on care.

For example, Dorotchi is a quite average Tama and seems to come from quite average care. Not very good but not so bad either. And of course the generation must be even number.

Yes, Dorotchi is an average character. I would take pretty good care of him when he's a toddler, then slowly let the attention drop......... but don't treat him horribly. This will probably result in an average character, hopefully Dorotchi.
