Is there a way you can choose your teacher because I heard you can get a different teacher but I keep getting Mr. Turtlepedia.

Yes there is. When you get the [!] mail and the turtle teacher comes, you press the A button and he walks away another teacher comes. Keep doing that untill you find the teacher that you want. By the way the turtle is for intelligent points, the flower teacher is for art points & the square-faced teacher is for social points.Hope this helps!

ichigotchiluver pretty much said it , when the [!] comes in the mail you will go get mad at the pre-school teacher then you get the school offer, when the teacher comes walking up to your tama push button A and the other teachers come, Mr Turtle teaches pencil points, Ms flower teaches sparkle points and Mr Canvas teaches flower points.
