On the version 4 tamagotchi, what do the symbols that look like a flower, star and pencil mean/do? and how can I level them up?

So, those are the "skill" points,

The pencil one is intelligence, you can boost it by playing shape. And eating beef. And choosing Mr Turtle as a teacher

the star is style/arts, you can boost this by playing dance and choosing Ms Flower as a teacher.

The flower icon stands for kindness/soicle, boost this by playing flag and choosing Mr Canvas as a teacher.

Those are called Skill Points. You earn them by playing games and eating certain foods. The pencil one is itelligence, the star is the arts/fashion, and the flower is soical/kindness. You can pick the turtle teacher and gain pencil points or get the flower teacher to gain soical/kindness and the canvas teacher to gain arts/fashion points!
