Mail thing

On my v4 a mailman popped up and he put the mail in this mailbox. After that the mail icon was flashing so i clicked on it then it showed a heart. What does that mean?

EDIT:

Maybe I put too little of information... so the mailman came, i clicked the mail icon and then the letter thing was flashing. It looked like an envalope. So I clicked on it then a heart showed up and my tamagotchi started jumping up and down and cheering all happy. What just happened?

No, it's not a secret admirer, LOL. It's just something random your Tamagotchi gets in the mail. And if any happy hearts are down, this heart will fill them right back up.
