thanks a bunch!!

Hello everyone! Being the website "expertee" around here, I'd like to give some constructive critiscm. Please don't think that I think your website sucks or anything. I just want to help you improve. XD

I assume that most of you are beginners in the field of website-making. Freewebs is a pretty good host with good bandwidth. There are a few setbacks, though.

(1) You can only have 7 pages... way too low a number for a good website

(2) The premade layouts are NOT a big hit with viewers

(3) You can only have 7 "paragraphs" on each page.

Cursor trails (such as your clock/date one) and floating things on the page usually make the page unusually slow. Especially for dial-up users. It's best to not have that eyecandy. It only distracts viewers from the main juice of your site.

And PLEASE. Make sure you can see the text without having to highlight everything on the page. White text on a light blue background is not the best way to go about doing things. And TABLES are your friends. Use them.

Never use smileys on a webpage. It's very unprofessional and distracting.

Also, make sure you check for GRAMMAR and SPELLING and PUNCTUATION. There are a lot of us grammar Nazis out there, and we jump at any opportunity to rant about English skills. And besides, it really hurts our minds to read something with no punctuation and no capitalization.

If you are planning on making a Tamagotchi site, make a Tamagotchi layout! For most websites, there is a theme. And that theme is reflected in everything that is on that page. I learned these lessons the hard way.

There are quite a few good places where you can download layouts and edit them the easy way. https://daydreamgraphics.com, https://magitek.nu, and https://kylara.com are three of my top favourites.

Simply download the layout, open it with Frontpage, change the text, and upload to Freewebs.

BEWARE OF THE 7-PAGE LIMIT.

If you don't want the 7-page limit, I'm afraid you'll have to change hosts. One of the best ones out there is Geocities. They offer 15 MB of space (enough for like 200 pages if you want. I'm serious.), and some more features. The uploading is a lot quicker, and a lot of people like Geocities sites because they can close down the ad window.

If anyone needs any help with their websites, feel free to ask me! ^_~

By the way, my page is https://geocities.com/fearmirichan
