Nail-Polish Remover or Rubbing Alcohol?

I want to paint my Music Star, but first I (obviously) need to remove the shell-design.

So I was wondering, which is better for removing Tama-Shell Paint:

Nail-Polish Remover or Rubbing Alcohol?

I've used Rubbing Alcohol before, but I almost killed my Tama...

If you have any other suggestions, I'm happy to hear them
