need help with punishing

a couple of my friends punish their tamagotchis when they give bad presents. is this bad for their tamagotchis ? I dont think its good for them cause they dont get training bars or anything for it, but is it bad ? I havent done it with mine because i was afraid it might do something to my tama but i wasnt sure so can you please tell me if you know anything about this so that i can tell my friends to stop this if its bad for their tamagotchis.

the only time to punish it is when it beeps for no reason..i think there is another time but i cant remeber now

and u praise it when it has its back turned to u or when its mad(it'll have a little cloud looking thing above its head to the left)

On the connection, you punish for beeping for no reason, and you praise when the tama cries or has its back turned to you. ON the keitai (I don't knwo about the V2s), you do all of the above but you also punish when the tama has a little tantrum.

ddont punish when it gives bad presents or doesnt wanna eat or doesnt wanna play a game etc...only when the times when it beeps for no reason
