This Actually works on any generation except the first eric780. You can contact them and get gifts. I'm sure that everyone knows this, altough this is a tip for the people who are new to tamagotchis. This is a useful topic.

I heard that grandparents can also give you the Famous Picture (from 4th generation up)- a souvenir.
