Problem with Praising

I recently bought a V4 and realized a problem with it. When I try to praise my Tama, I'm instantly sent back to the regular screen. There's no animation and no inclination that selecting praise has done anything.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? Should I buy a new V4?

You can only praise your Tamagotchi when it needs to be praised. You will know when it needs prased when it crying on the screen. You cannot just praise your Tama any time you want in the V4.
