Problems with entering the shop codes

I have a question for anyone that can help:

I am trying to enter secret codes and I press A the correct amount of times, but instead, my tamagotchi gives me the *not working noise* and the shopkeeper doesn't get the suprised look on his face!!! HOW CAN I GET HIM TO???

That happened to me too... it was because I had too many items. Maybe that's your problem. Try using, giving away, or throwing away some of your items. Hope that helps!
