just to add to what tamapopgirl said, in order to memetchi you have to always use the second item for training and raise it to 100%.this is a v5 growth chart to help you find mumutchi.

No, I'm afraid this will not work vice-versa. :/ But otherwise you're right!!! The only way to get a Meme Family is to marry a Memetchi at 100% bonding to a Mumutchi.
