There is... one way I know of.

Wait till ur Tama is an adult. Do NOT let it mate with anyone elses or any of your other ones. Wait for the Matchmaker to come, and press "A" before seeing your planned partner to let the offspring be of your adult Tama's gender, "B" for the offspring to be of your Tama's mate's gender.

If you want twins, you have to mate two of your own tamagotchis, and no the twins are always the same gender. And with the matchmaker you only get one child not two.
