Tamagotchi G2/P2 Problem

I got new batteries for my G2/P2 Tamagotchi, and it was fine for a few days. Then when it was a teenager, weird screen glitches started appearing. Black lines would cover the places were shaded pixels were.

How can I stop this? I really want my G2 to work again...

I think the battery isn't right or if you've had it in water it will go fuzzy.
