Tamagotchi Smart: can't leave 'talk to' screen

I just got my tamagotchi smart and haven't quite figured it out yet. I've been stuck on the 'talk to' screen for over 20 minutes now and I can't figure out how to get off of it! What is the secret to getting back to the home screen?

Press the black "Home" button to exit that particular menu! Or choose the bottom left option, which will have your Tamagotchi talk to you, possibly ask you to answer a question, then exit the Communication menu competely.
