Mary gulped. But she knew she had to be polite. "Um...er..h..h..h..hell.l.l.o.o.o." she managed to squeak. The hairy monster had popping eyeballs leaking blood and mould around his yellow teeth, but no lips, and no nose, and he was a foul shade of green. He stank of cheese, centuries old, and wore nothing but rotting rags. His nails were too long, and Mary suddenly realised, with a gasp, that they were golden claws!
She stared, too petrified to move, and then...
The monster, stood up straight and...
Ripped off an ugly mask and gloves! What do you think of my Halloween costume, Mary!?" asked her favourite teacher, Mr. Moon. "Mr Moon! How did you get green and have claws?!" she said, and Mr. Moon said, "Oh, this is face-paint, dear, and gloves!!!"
"Ha ha ha!" said Mary.
THE END.
