The matchmaker does not come for the oldies. You must mate with another oldie. When you mate with oldies you can get a secret character called Oyajitchi. (Skips child and teen stage).

The matchmaker wont come for the oldtimer sorry but

it can mate with another tamagotchi thats an oldtimer
