V6 Music Star: How do you get other characters?

I keep getting the same characters on my V6. How do I get different ones? I keep getting the Kikitchi as a teen, and the Mametchi as an adult. How do I get ones like the Tarakotchi? Is there a special way you can feed them, perhaps? Any help will be great.

Apparently, through my reasearch on the v6/Music Star, you get Kikitchi and Mametchi on odd generations, if your Tamagotchi is a boy.

All you need to do is give your tamagotchi SLIGHTLY bad care (or if you want Tarakotchi, even worse care than that) and you will get different characters.
