Plus, I like the oldies better than a lot of the crap put out today. Not saying all music today is crap, because there are many wonderful songs/ artists right now. I wonder what our musical legacy will be 50 years from now. honestly, I don't know how much memorable music we've put out. *sigh*

I totally agree with you! I don't think I've heard many, if any, songs that are classic material that will stand the test of time the way The Beatles have and other bands like it.

Rock is a really broad way of defining a musical genre, though, because it can split in so many directions. I'm a fan of Hard Rock- Guns 'n' Roses, that sort of thing. (See, I'm 14 and I'm into bands like that, from the 80s. I don't think many of our songs are going to be around much in twenty years time.)

If you think they put all rock on guitar hero then you need to grow up.

They're nothing nearly rock.

They're a power metal band my uneducated friend.

The Jonas Brothers = Disney Pop

Fall Out Boy = Punk Pop

My Chemical Romance = Alt Rock

Panic! At The Disco = Power Pop

The Beatles = Rock n roll

The closest to rock in that list is the beatles in my opinion.

AC/DC

Green Day (They're more indie now though)

Some A7X songs.

Besides all that, rock is more like pop nowadays, we've pushed to limits into metalcore, deathcore and screamo

P!ATD- Alternative

FOB- Poppy Alternative

MCR- Well their older CDs are more Rock but "The Black Parade" is more mainstream Alternative

The Beatles- classic Rock. 'nuff said
