what does "validating" mean?

i'm confused wat does it mean

It means that user name is a new member to TamaTalk and we are still waiting for them to validate (confirm) their application/registration.

When you register on the site, TamaTalk sends an email to the email address you supply which you have to reply to with a confirmation code number. If you don't validate your account it does not become a regular members account.
