I've heard from a couple of sources that tama connections and v2s have something called luck level, and that this can effect what partner is offered you by the matchmaker. What is this? is it just a rumour? How do you get a higher luck level?

The only luck and/or predetermined things is what baby you get from the egg, when an oldie dies, and who you get from the matchmaker, and what player you get from bump. Everything depends on how you care for it.

It's true, tama2tama4. It's on TamaSquare, but to my knowledge, it's only true for the Tamagotchi Plus (Japanese).
