Why did my tama family turn "Large"

I have a V5. All three characters turned fat, and my family type is "large", after feeding them something, maybe a shark fin. How do I get them back the way they were. There are first generation, they were a "blended" family before, and I want a pure tama family, for my next generation. Please help!!
