why does it do this?

i have a V2 and its a star.i got it a ball from the shop and i let him play with it but he only played with it fo 3 seconds why won't he play with it longer?

and what is the star called?

The star is called a hitodetchi and that's how long your tama plays with the ball. I'm not sure why they made it so short but that's just the way it is.
