Why post if you dont know the answer?

I noticed in alot of the topics when people ask for help someone might reply "Sorry I dont know" or somwhere along the lines. I think it's very senceless to hog up space when someone who knows the answer could just reply. If you dont know the answer I think you should ignor the topic and move to one which you do know the answer to, instead of geting someones hopes up just find out you dont the answer. So maby we could try to stop this!

I don't see the problem, all they are saying is 'I don't know either' is it really such a big deal?

Some people say 'I don't know but..[and gives some information about where to find whatever they want]' It depends on how you look at it I don't think theres a problem.

 
Well I think it's not problem when people people put i dont but giveinformation about the answer, but when they they just post I dont know, I think it's kinda senceless.
