Why ?

I have two V4.5 and they have different backrounds. Is that normal? I bought them at different Toys R Us stores.

yes that is normal

a lot of tamagotchis have different backgrounds

My inactive v3 has a heart background, I've collected some box backgrounds and a swirl background, my v4 has a star and rainbow background and my v1 has a numbers background.

ohh ok.. I just thought that all versions had the same background. both my v2 have the same background so I was just curious as to why my v4.5 has diff. backgrounds.
