If you buy the chest, and you open it you don't have to reset then download.You just open it, and even if you don't do that you can still get an item. I've gotten it before. Don't take the risk of reseting your tamagotchi!!

Translation: When you use the chest on V3 and gives you a present, reset your tama quick and download it. The present will be in your Item list + the chest will still be there!
