I found the source he sited. I can read Japanese (self-taught) and it basically said that 250 were released, though it had been planned that 750 would be released. So there are only 250 worldwide, which makes it one of the rarest tamas.

I don't really decorate my tamas, I usually get limited editions and I leave them as factory designed.

Well, I think I am going to use it but save all the packaging. That way, in the 200+ days once he/she dies, I can put it away and keep it in good condition. Now to find a case.....

I always use EMS so my tamas only take 3-5 business days to arrive. it costs more but it is fully insured so I think it is worth it.

In my opinion, the tamas lost their roots after V3. After that, they became somewhat gimmicky, less pet, more game.

Since that was $60 including shipping, that wasn't such a bad deal. Shipping was probably $6-16. So a reasonable purchase. Good luck raising that ocean.

I would use a key dish, a small box, or for portability, I often use my gameboy micro case.

I have ordered a Tamagotchi Plus V1 Swimmer Edition from everyone's favorite eBay seller Jason. I am debating whether or not to open it. I know they are incredibly rare (only 250 worldwide), but I am very interested in opening it up and playing with it. The last tama I used was a P1 from 1997...
