Universsal characters come from abuse,weight, or it's just random! it looks like abuse isn't a problem with you! But make sure you take care of it weight!Or maybe you are just getting the universal characters as random. Hope I helped!

You have to wait 24 hours after your tama become an adult, so it won't happen as soon as you turn 3! :)
