Closer to one parent over the other

You have all my support in getting though these times. My parents haven't split but I think I know what it would feel like. Big hugs for you!

They aren't splitting. Dad got a work trasfer to another town and he starts in 3 weeks. Mum is moving there as soon as they buy a house and she gets a job there. They told me I'm not able to move with them so I have to live with my grandparents. Stupid earthquake did all of this.

I'm definitely closer to my dad than my mom. I feel like my mom doesn't make an effort to spend any time with me or do anything that I'm interested in. She also gets angry quite quickly, so I find it hard to talk to her, where as my dad listens to me and actually does things with me. My dad also does all of the cooking, so if I didn't have him, I'd be living off frozen meals and soup.
