I support Obama, and so do all my family.

I think it would be excellent for America to have its first black president, and that is truly a step towards the realisation of Martin Luther King's revolutional speech, about living in harmony. He also seems to have good plans, and I agree with all he says.

One of the major things I've noticed is that when McCain and Obama are debating, McCain looks very smug and keeps smiling in an almost mocking way. What I've also seen is that Obama will be very respectful towards McCain, although politely disagreeing with some of his points. But McCain is constantly belittling Obama. I know it's very competitive and all, but I admire the way Obama's attitude and the way he acts, and I think McCain has a bad attitude.

Just my opinion. =)

^ Agreed, and plus, I watched Obama and McCains speech, and Obama connects to the audience a LOT more, and he seems more, ehh, i dont know, down to earth.

Totally agreed!

He seems down-to-earth and pleasant, with good plans and a nice attitude. Go Obama!

xx

Haha! Im Canadian, but im SOOO into this election, all I do is watch CNN politics all day when I can.

lol same.
Canada is boring.
Really? Because would you honestly prefer the b/s the politicians do and deal with in the U.S, not to mention what they're going through right now with their form of a recession? We got it a lot better than they do  Better it be quiet than it make too much noise.

Haha yes, but the American struggle is more dramatic than Canada's little problems. I guess it's funner for us Canadians to watch because we don't get affected as much as the Americans do. :]

I'll re-post my views..

I personally find Obama to be to inexperianced. On his biography, it says "Obama worked as a community organizer and practiced as a civil rights attorney". Apparently [not saying it's true] the biggest thing he's organized was a pingpong match or something. I highly doubt it though, but if true, wow. He hasn't ran a city or state before, so is running AmericaNot only that, his interviews are horrible when he doesn't have a speech set up right infront of him. It's not his ideas, but he stuters a lot. I know that shouldn't be a factor, but I would rather a president who can think on the spot in quick situations.

I do think that Obama has the right idea, and a heart that truely wants to make America better. But seriously, his views change every minute. First, in October 07, "Decisions about [gay] marriage should be left to the states." But back in 06, "Opposes gay marriage; supports civil union & gay equality." It makes no sense. He opposes gay marriage, but is in favour for equality.

Also, picking Joe Biden as a running mate was a good and bad idea. Good, for no negative publicity about the guy, not a lot of people know who he is, unless you're in tune with Washington politics. Bad, for no publicity at all, unlike Mrs.hockey mom Sarah Palin.

For more examples, click here. https://www.ontheissues.org/senate/Barack_Obama.htm

Now, on to McCain. I have a problem with his pro-life policy, unlike Obama's way to find a middle ground. Abortion is a touchy subject, but no one has the right to tell a woman what to do with her body. I could go into full view about this, but that's being off topic. There's a few more issues I'd like to bring up, but I don't have much time. https://www.ontheissues.org/John_McCain.htm

What I like about McCain, is his consistancy.

NOW, Sarah Palin. McCain picked her as his running mate, and she seems to be getting good feed back. But what I hate about her is all this media attention she's getting. GET OVER IT ETALK, her glasses are NOT trend worthy, she's a political VP, not a drunken celebrity. I think why she's getting good feedback is due to the fact a lot of women can relate to her- her "hockey mom" reference, pregnant teenage daughter, having a child with Down syndrome, etc. This, should have NO effect to the election, but of course, IT DOES. People will vote according to the media attetion, and that is why McCain and Obama in my opinion, are neck and neck. I was watching CNN last night, and one woman liked Pain, saying "the white house is full of old men, having Palin will refresh America with her youthful spirit". If I find the exact quote, I will post. Judging the election on age is the stupidest thing. Sure, personality draws in positive views, but if you have noreal eye on the issues, you should not be voting.

Example of lol media attetion on Palin. -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVndk47caco...QrApzYyzl5UXrRc

Honestly, I'm stuck between both. But America will decide. I am Canadian, and not able to vote, but I hope America makes a good choice.

It just seems American politics are more... dramatic. Sara Palin alledgedly (wow, i really cant spell) hunts animals, etc, etc. But in Canada its like "Dion, you can't trust THAT guy, now can you?". I dont know, haha, its just too nice here.

Aha

Okay I'll ask again Obama supporters - someone tell me what he's actually done besides speak and write. No one will answer this. :)

Hello from Australia! ;)

I really need to know more about this election before I actually say anything about it. I need views and opinions from both sides, thank you very much! :)

B) I have no clue who I'm for. I'm pro-life (you can't change that, don't get all "WHAT IF _____ HAPPENED WHAT NOW HUH HUH HUUUH" on me) but I don't support war.

*shuts up and eats Mentos*

... I'm a conservative. Which means, I don't like taxes, help for the needy, or just general government in my business. Republicans, as we know them, are no longer conservative because they support things that either place more restrictions on people (i.e.: anti-abortion) or help out people with government intervention (i.e.: the bail-out plan).

I support Obama. I'm registered as a Republican. I was kinda fried that Obama was all for this "socialism for corporations" bail-out plan but... That's what he should be for, He's a Democrat. So, first off, Obama is consistent in his actions.

This is off the website:

In the Illinois State Senate, this meant working with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. He also pushed through an expansion of early childhood education, and after a number of inmates on death row were found innocent, Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.
In the U.S. Senate, he has focused on tackling the challenges of a globalized, 21st century world with fresh thinking and a politics that no longer settles for the lowest common denominator. His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent. He has also been the lead voice in championing ethics reform that would root out Jack Abramoff-style corruption in Congress.

As a member of the Veterans' Affairs Committee, Senator Obama has fought to help Illinois veterans get the disability pay they were promised, while working to prepare the VA for the return of the thousands of veterans who will need care after Iraq and Afghanistan. Recognizing the terrorist threat posed by weapons of mass destruction, he traveled to Russia with Republican d*** Lugar to begin a new generation of non-proliferation efforts designed to find and secure deadly weapons around the world. And knowing the threat we face to our economy and our security from America's addiction to oil, he's working to bring auto companies, unions, farmers, businesses and politicians of both parties together to promote the greater use of alternative fuels and higher fuel standards in our cars
So pretty much he's for helping out the people on the bottom of the pecking order, evening out the wealth playing field and making sure that people get what people need.

I like Biden is pretty awesome though. The guy has done tons of stuff and really knows about what's going on. Biden is like the Spock to Obama's Kirk. Except, Biden has got some guts, man. I loved how he had the testicular fortitude to stand up and call-out McCain for not being so much of a "maverick" as he likes to claim to be during the vice-presidential debate. This whole campaign I'd been thinking similar things... I just had to clap when I heard him go off.

I should mention also that Biden usually backed up his claims with some kind of plan on how they were going to get implemented... I really liked that. Much better than "Well, gosh darn it Joe. I don't know, but I'll go find it out and get right back to 'ya." Seems like Pailn really likes to dodge facts.

PS: What has McCain done that proves that he actually supports what his campaign says he does?

Well anyone right now is better than Harper IMHO. Noone want's a robot as a prime minister.

Just watch how he smiles and gestures and moves. Especially before he became PM he was so dang stiff. I was like o_O;; danger will robinson, DANGER! XD!!

Seriously though, I think Harper's a sly fox. Been quite a few job loses all across Ontario as seen on the news and now he's like "Oh we'll give them all jobs again" then add the fact when asked about Caledonia, he pretty much talked around it and went on to another topic. I was like WTF!

At least with Dion, his english might be slightly misinterpreted at times, but he at least knows what he wants for us. He's just going to have to improve on his english somemore and slow down when he's talking if he's to address the public further.

That was one of his weak points during the english debate, but the french one he wiped the floor with Harper and everyone else there because it was in french.

Anyway I agree on the American debates and stuff being more dramatic and such.
