I believe the world will end, it sort of has too. I believe that jesus will come and take the believers back to heaven, but i do not believe that its going to happen soon, it might but saying that its going to end because all of this stuff thats happening is not true, I mean just grow up we don't live in candy land, their are no fairies, santa's not real but elves are lol. bad thing will happen, they always have and always will. how do you think people back when Noah's flood came felt, they thought its the end of the world! But it wusn't. So saying the world is going to end because of the bad things happening is not very logical

 
I kind of believe it. I've watched a few specials on TV. There are some scientists/specialists that predict that something is going to happen that day in 2012. It may not necessarily be the end of the world, but something is still going to happen, according to those people. I don't really know what the evidence is because I can't remember. But I think it's possible.

But, the world could end any day. We can't live our lives in fear of what may or may not happen. We just have to enjoy what we have now. Eventually we all have to die. Why not make our time on this Earth worth it?

 
Quick Answer: lolwut?!? of course it won't! My birthday will be missed! (it's a few day's after apocalypse day) No but seriously,I don't think so. As some other TTers said,it's just Mother Nature's way of dealing with things. ;)

 
Yes, I believe the world will end at some point. I don't think it will be anytime soon though. But I believe in the second coming of Jesus. Even if I'm wrong the sun will go out someday wiping out everything on earth. Of course if mankind manages to settle on other planets by that point humanity itself will live on.

 
Well ,,, everyone has a different theory or beliefe ... there are even books on it .. I guess I ccan believe in it ,,, but everyone has a different opionion and I guess we will see when the time comes .

2012 is a whole load of B.S. I believe the Mayan calendar ending on December WHATEVERBLUHBLUH 2012 is just because they ran out of space.

2012 is a popularity stunt overall.

 
2012 is a lot like Y2K. A bunch of worrying and speculation over what will ultimately amount to nothing.

 
Did anyone hear about the so called Rapture that's going to happen tomorrow at 6pm local time? I have to admit I'm pretty freaked out. xD But there's a lot of reasons why Harold Camping's theory (google him!) isn't true. I can't help but get scared regardless. It was all anyone was talking about today at school.

Seriously. Even if there was a Tsunami in wellington, my part (Tawa) is 36 metres above sea level.

I just don't see how a human being can profess to know when the world will end. That's pretty much God's department. No human has that kind of power.

 
^^That's exactly my issue with this whole thing. This, to my knowledge, is not mentioned anywhere in any religious texts. This saturday rapture thing is based on Camping's theory after attempting to perform some form of numerology derived from biblical references. He has also predicted that the rapture would come back in '92 or '94 I can't remember which. Another little gem about his theory is that he claims only 200,000 humans will be brought back to Heaven, and that the rest of us won't even notice who's gone. :/

 
I agree. There is a verse in the Bible that says that only the Father will no when the world is to end, and that the second coming of Christ will be like "a thief in the night." Unfortunately I can't find the exact verse, but it is a valid argument used against Camping's latest prediction.

For some of our fellow TTers, they have already past 6pm local time. I'm pretty sure they're still around, right? xD

I do not believe in the end of the world.

think about it When 9/11 hapened or the Haiti earth quake or japans quake. they allways said the same thing. "its the end of the World" well its not. the world will end when its ready and non of us will be alive when that happens. are sun is the giver of life. it has to go first and thats not happening for bout another 5 million (or maybe 5 billion) yrs.

so it means... the world is safe. even with pollution because everyone is changing there ways.

In the course of its lifetime, the Earth has destroyed itself and started over several times. It's pretty cool stuff, but happens over billions of years. So yes, the world will end eventually, but who cares when? Nobody can say.

I remember people freaking out about Y2K and being all, 'lol, OK, enjoy returning those expensive generators'. Mass hysteria is fabulous.
