Yeah, it's very unfair that there's uneven amount of male and female characters... And male characters have sucky designs. We need a flamboyant male tama.

I'm not saying that it's bad that characters have a personality. I'm saying that it's a kind of a weird concept when you think about it, because on Tamagotchi Friends you don't do much else than feeding and cleaning their poop, just like on the original versions. But the original versions had their own lore. Tamagotchi is a thing in which you have an alien and help him behave properly before he leaves back to his planet. On color versions, these characters actually do something else than starving and defecating- they have more of a life of their own, after all. And they are on their own planet already. I'm saying that the new characters just don't fit to be in a version with so little options, but...After all there will be Dream Town, anyway.

I get what you're saying. Rather than taking care of a pet it's like you're taking care of a little miniature person. It is a bit weird if you look at it like that.

I'm not saying that I don't enjoy the characters- on Hanerutchi you take care of the actual people and it' one of my favorite versions, but...Kids overall like actual virtual pets more, I guess.

I was thinking about the Jewelry feature, and it got me thinking about how Dream Town could come into it. You could probably get certain jewelry that you can't buy in the store, but it would be interesting if there were areas of Dream Town that you could only enter if you had certain amounts of jewelry or certain sets completed. At the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if the jewelry feature really served no value other then a side mission type thing to collect them all.

Well if there is no built in character collection like the colour I guess it makes it another way of collection it would be cool if you unlocked new areas in dream town like you said and there probably is dream town only jewelry as it says in the instructions you use the password to log out and obtain an item.

Thank you!! Finally somebody said it. Everyone needs to stop complaining, it's annoying, and it's not going to change anything. Yes the Tamagotchi may seem like a disappointment, complaining about it isn't going to change it. Bandai at least made an effort to release a new tama and that's all we need. Bandai seems to be aiming towards the female audience, because they usually release toy-lines for the male audience, like Power Rangers, Ben 10, and Pac-man. They don't want the girls to feel forgotten.

i totally agree!

I think if they would look like normal pets, it would be boring. it's the coolest part of the tamagotchi, that they are looking diferrent, with these crazy japanese touch.

back at elemantary school, a friend of mine had a kitty vpet and i had a p2 and everyone liked my tamagotchi much more

Complaining isn't always a bad thing. If we just accept everything they give us, it means we fell for their trap and they won't try to improve anything.

I think that we all should just express our opinions, whether they are negative or positive and just not quote people saying why their opinion is bad.

I personally handled this version and I didn't like it at first, I warmed up to it a bit later, but I still will always like my connections more, that's all.

All I know is in a few months I'll be able to walk into a Wal Mart and pick up a couple Tamagotchis. No worrying about importing. No having to pay shipping and wait a few days before they arrive. Walk in, grab the Tamas, pay and go home and start them up. I'm too happy about being able to do that once again to complain too much. And if these sell well better versions are sure to come. Maybe even color versions.

When they come to the USA, i'm going to buy tons, even if it's just for higher sales so they have motivation to make new, better ones. I'm just so happy. It HAS to be better than the Tama-Go, it HAS to.

I haven't been able to buy a tamagotchi in stores since the v5... But they at least weren't that expensive. You can buy a good game for 40$. They could leave out the NFC, honestly...

They look interesting but I have no plans on ever getting one unless they turn up on Aussie store shelves or on ebay. I haven't seen them on ebay yet though. As for the designs I'm not keen on them, so if I were going to buy one I'd buy the Blue ID L shell I guess.

I think my only problem would be that some of the shells look like IDLs, but appear to be thicker... I have an IDL, and if I get the same colour as my IDL but in TamagotchiFriends, would the contrasts be hideously obvious and show up the Tamagotchi Friends?

The iDL shells are quite ugly to be honest... They are very unproportional and I've heard they are bad quality. Plus they are way darker. I have a blue iDL and it's beautiful, unlike blu TF...
