I was recently transferring a bunch of photos from PhotoBucket to another site, and when I pasted it, it looked like an address to a file from your computer, so I tried pasting it in a new tab, and instead, a window came up saying that it could be a virus, and that they recommended downloading this free AntiVirus software.

Well, I clicked "OK."

Well, it brought me to a new site and ran a test which lasted 3 seconds long, and it said I had 3 viruses: one was porn ads, one was called "IE [internet Explorer] Monster", and there was one that was a Trojan horse/worm that tracks keystrokes looking for bank passwords. So there was a button about like removing it or something, then when I clicked on it, it asked me to install. I eventually tried clicking the X of the message, but it wouldn't let me go. Well, all I had to do was X outta the tab.

Then I ran a REAL AntiVirus software, and apparently the free "antivirus software" that I ran into on FireFox WAS a virus (I knew it), and I cleaned that outta my system.

So my computer almost got hacked, but those losers got outsmarted. BY A 13-YEAR-OLD. XD

So if you ever come across something like that where a window tells you to download a free AntiVirus program or run a free scan, X out of the tab or your browser and run a real AntiVirus scan IMMEDIATELY!

So there's some info for ya! :D

I've had that happen too! if were talking about the same thing,

it looked so official! Well, I didn't download it of course because its kinda

fishy for some program you don't even have installed to run a scan on your

computer. :p

Thank you very much for the info! I'll keep this list for future reference.

Oh and btw, if any of you are looking for a free antivirus sofware that doesn't do any harm to your computer, download "avast antivirus". It's free, and it does a lot for your computer (no joke).

Another one is AVG. The free version isn't as good as the full version, but it still gets rid of nasty viruses.

And yes, I HAVE been onto elgoog.com. Pretty funny.

My bad I thought it said google :( Just realised

I went to www.goggle.com and yeah it just says it in the corner but my mcfee site advisor blocked it and said that it gives spammy e-mails and stuff so yeah..

Its spyware, meaning people can look at what you do on the internet, but thankfuly, my Norton Protection System (very trustworthy ((3 thumbs up)) ) Spotted it and told me it was low risk. I deleted it anyway.

It wants you to download by telling you you can watch free videos. The one that reeled me in was a one to watch the oringal pokemon. INCULEDING BANNED ESPISDOES IN ENGLISH!
