I recently purchased an Umino Tamagotch and received it in the mail today. I haven't updated my current log in a while, but I wanted to document my first experiences with the ocean. I plan to put this information into my other log at some point, but this way I can keep things more organized. I really don't know much about the ocean except for a few tips I've picked up from Mimitchi.com and people on the facebook group. It seems to be the general consensus that this is the most difficult tama to run, so I am ready for a challenge!
First of all, I am thrilled to have gotten my favorite shell. I have been waiting to find this one for the right price and it finally happened. I know it isn't very "ocean" themed, but purple is my favorite color and it's just so pretty. This is the Japanese version, for those who don't know. The English version is extremely rare and I think it is priced even higher than the devils. I'm not really sure of the differences, but it's probably pretty close to the same thing.
I hatched my little guy and the first thing I noticed was how cool the animations are on this tama. Everything is really fast, and the clock screen instantly shows up when you press B...there's no slow scroll. A definite improvement over the earlier versions. I was greeted by a cute little Planktontchi. He was happily floating around my screen for about an hour until he changed into an adorable little jelly, Kuragetchi. This is the "child" stage I'm guessing. I've been running the tama for about 5 hours now...had to pause during orchestra rehearsal.
The game is a guessing game...typical of tamagotchi games. There are two treasure chests and you have to guess which one the treasure is in. Mostly, you will either open the treasure or an empty chest. You have to get at least 3 out of 5 to win...I've never gotten over 3 yet. Sometimes, a chest will open to reveal an octopus! The octopus inks up your screen and the game ends. The water is completely black and you have to use the toilet icon to clear it up. This also completely empties out the happiness hearts.
There is a new meter on the ocean. It monitors the clarity of the water. There are 4 skulls, and when one of them fills up, you can use the toilet icon to clean the water. I haven't let all of the skulls fill up, but I'm sure the tama wouldn't like that very much
There is a predator feature like with the Morino. I've already been unfortunate enough to have missed an attack....even though I watched it happen! Kuragetchi beeped at me and I was trying to tap the screen but it didn't really work. A shark attacked him and made him sick. I don't really know what I did wrong, but I'll try to figure it out next time. Kuragetchi decided to take a nap (no other version has taken naps before that I'm aware of) and right after he fell asleep, the shark came.
This is really all that's happened so far. I will do my best to update this often. So far I am really enjoying this tama! I will hopefully be updating my main log in the next few days.
