Milo is 20 years old today, I can't believe it! It seems like just yesterday he was a little egg wobbling about on the screen.

20130228_192158_zpseec67007.jpg

He still enjoys some childish persuits though, I think he's really just a big kid deep down. Here he is building what oldies build with the blocks:

Is it a pyramid? Is it a ship? Maybe Milo's pretending to sail away to some desert island... Or even Tamagotchi Planet? I wish I could see inside his head sometimes. Yes I did just say that and yes I do think tamagotchis have feelings... Particularly Milo - he's a little character :D . Oh wow what did I just admit to? Please don't think I'm weird (although yes I am)! Here, I have cake!

Hello beautiful people who read this log (if you exist at all that is!). Milo is 21 years old:

20130301_211009_zpsa1712f8a.jpg

I've been so busy today so unfortunately I didn't get the chance to take many pictures of Milo and now he's gone to bed so I don't want to disturb him (he's not an early bird, apparently he needs his beauty sleep!). But have a picture anyway, I think he possibly looks his cutest all snuggled up in bed. I wonder what tamagotchis dream about...

20130301_211042_zps659a98cc.jpg

Sorry for not logging yesterday but Milo and I had a pretty stressful time! He should have turned 23 today but unfortunately he only just turned 22:

20130303_165211_zps0d531adc.jpg

So Milo was due to turn 22 at about 3pm yesterday afternoon. At around 2:30pm I went for a walk in the park so I carefully wrapped Milo up in the mobile phone sock he always travels in and slipped him into my pocket. Imagine my horror when an hour later I got home and took out my v3 not to be met with Milo's bobbing face but a battery low sign. And that was nothing compared to my panic when I put in a new battery and an egg appeared on the screen. Luckily I pressed download and Milo returned! I've never been so glad to see him - I hadn't realised how attached I've become to him before. Anyway, I think Milo's last save point before his battery ran out was when he turned 21 because he didn't turn 22 yesterday as scheduled but stayed 21 for an extra day. To be honest though, I'm just releived not to have lost him!

After that little escapade we both needed some time to calm down so I sat Milo in front of the tv.

20130302_193541_zpsdba40ed6.jpg

I don't think the tv programme turned out the way he wanted which called for a change of channel:

20130302_193632_zpsed6ba9c5.jpg

That's better, he prefered this show I think.

20130302_193706_zps5dacf20f.jpg

You'll be pleased to hear that Milo has had no further battery problems and is now 23:

20130304_185812_zpsffebe49c.jpg

But what's this - where's he gone?!

20130304_185344_zps4737e527.jpg

Don't worry, Milo was only trying out his pair of rollerskates and I told him not to stay out of sight for long even if he is all grown up and responsible now (I'm still not sure if he actually is but don't tell him that!). I think he got pretty good with the rollerskates and I'm glad to see that he's still interested in keeping fit whatever his age.

Milo is 24 today:

20130305_193809_zpse42478b3.jpg

As an ojitchi his favourite food is muffins and because he's been so good lately I decided to buy him one from the shop. He took a few small bites at first then decided that he liked it:

20130305_192851_zps922949da.jpg

Then he did a little happy dance to celebrate. I was only able to get this picture but you get the general idea:

20130305_192859_zpsabf98df8.jpg

My little Milo is a quater of a century old today. Wow, that does sound grown up! He prefers to think of himself as 25 years young though.

20130306_194415_zps7d95e7f0.jpg

We brought a shovel from the shop in the hopes of discovering hidden treasure or gold and Milo began digging enthusiastically.

20130306_185712_zpsc740d18f.jpg

Unfortunately however, we only succeeded in unearthing a snake who was not happy about being disturbed. And neither was Milo after that little shock - I had to give him an icecream cone to make it up to him!

Today Milo is 26:

20130307_195002_zps8abe6f1b.jpg

We had a pretty exciting day! The final travel ticket to Chile appeared in the shop and Milo received his last travel souvenir from Tama Town, a pair of maraccas. Now he has all the souvenirs he can get from Tama Town although of course he'll never be able to collect every single one as he doesn't have any parents of grandparents to visit. But I like to think of myself as his adoptive parent so you needn't worry about him missing out on a good solid upbringing!

Milo and I also brought a mirror which he was very taken with - the vain little tama :D . Mirror, mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all? Don't worry Milo, it'll always be you in my eyes.

20130307_183853_zpsca24a51b.jpg

He disappeared briefly for a few seconds then came up close to the screen grinning all over his little face - I think he was pleased with his reflection.

Milo is 27:

20130308_195555_zps3a6e4ef6.jpg

Hold up a second, something's wrong! Was there always two of him or am I seeing double?

20130308_190449_zpsb41065e7.jpg

It's ok, that's just Milo trying out the clone item. He and his double had a sort of dance off doing their best to out-do each other. I think Milo won!

20130308_190453_zps1f46ac35.jpg

20130308_190501_zpsd026b419.jpg

He looked so melancholy when his clone left. I feel guilty sometimes that Milo doesn't have another tamagotchi to connect with, he must get lonely. I reassured him that my v4 and v4.5 should arrive in the post before the end of the month and then he'll have two new friends. Unfortunately he thinks that's a long time to wait and I have to agree with him.

Today Milo turned 28:

20130309_195334_zps8770f63a.jpg

I haven't had much time to play with Milo today. He's been helping me prepair for my gcse english controlled assessment on To Kill a Mockingbird next week. So, how do you think Harper Lee presents and develops the character of Boo Radley in the novel? Yeah, poor Milo must have been pretty bored. I tried to make it up to him by buying a shovel from the shop.

20130309_191507_zps6658d8dd.jpg

But all we found was a snake!

20130309_191511_zps43e67795.jpg

Then Milo tried growing a pot plant which grew up and started attacking him. I feel like an awful tama mum, he must have had such a crappy day!

20130309_191412_zpsaef3df7d.jpg

Unfortunately I'll have to study for my controlled assessment again tomorrow and after that I will be writing the actual exam. So I probably won't be able to log in much detail over the next week. Ugh I hate gcses... All you guys across the pond (by the way why do they call it that?) are so lucky you don't have to do them! Anyway I'm pretty nervous although Milo's been trying to persuade me I won't completely fail. I'm not entirely sure I believe him though.

Milo is 29 years old and I can't believe I've already had him so long!

20130310_194534_zpsea8442d1.jpg

Today I decided to make a keyring for him. I made a little sculpture of an Ojitchi out of polythene clay and attached it to a keyring. So now Milo has his very own sculpture of himself to decorate his shell with. I don't know how well it turned out but I'm pretty proud of it - I think he's (almost) as cute as Milo!

I based it off the artist's impression of Ojitchi but I made the hair a little different because I thought it looked kinda good that way.

Do you think it does Milo justice? Nah I don't think it's as handsome either!

Milo has reached another landmark in his oldie-life: his 30th birthday!

20130311_195011_zps422e1c4a.jpg

Here he is keeping his balance skills honed:

20130311_195047_zpsd4ddb0b6.jpg

He let me know that he wasn't pleased when he fell off the ball... Maybe I shouldn't have laughed.

20130311_195134_zps4f1d4ff4.jpg

But Milo tried again and this time had a bit more success and managed to stay on. Look at him grinning - he knows I'm proud of him!

Again, I didn't have a lot of time to play with Milo again today because I've been revising for my English gcse controlled assessment which starts tomorrow. Eek! I don't feel prepared at all :(

Today Milo turned 31:

20130312_084107_zps284ddf1e.jpg

I brought him a chest from the shop to celebrate and guess what happened... No gotchi points, no cake, not even a snake! Instead there was a puff of smoke my little oldie turned into a baby right in front of my eyes.

20130312_071338_zps0a6352ba.jpg

It was cute seeing him young again and brought back fond memories of Milo's childhood but I have to admit I was a little alarmed having worked so hard to get him to this age. Milo didn't look too happy either and he started to cry which really pulled at my heartstrings.

20130312_071342_zps04e4245b.jpg

Then he had a little tama tantrum:

20130312_071345_zps8bad3f71.jpg

But before he knew it the good old (pun intended) Milo we all know and love was back looking very shaken up. I guess he enjoys being all grown up and refined which is weird because at his age most people dream of looking young again.

20130312_071349_zps9b05299e.jpg

That ordeal with the chest emptied all of Milo's hungry and happiness hearts but luckily I had his favourite food to hand, a muffin, so they didn't take long to fill up again. I still felt kinda bad about it though.

On a side note, I begun my English controlled assessment today, thanks for asking by the way. I don't think I did too well but I had Milo encouraging me from my pocket which was nice although he wasn't much help as he's never bothered to read "To Kill a Mockingbird". Really, he should learn to listen better in class!

Milo is now 32:

20130313_194013_zps85d85c12.jpg

I had the second hour of my english controlled assessment today. Then all my other teachers decided to pile projects and tests on me so I'm afraid Milo didn't get much attention. Still, he tried to show solidarity with me by writing his own essay on observations about humans. Apparently we all need to slow down and stop rushing around - that sounds about right! Maybe tamagotchis are wiser than I give them credit for, or Milo is anyway.

20130313_194122_zps5ef8c0e5.jpg

However he soon lost interest and wanted to play. I felt bad explaining I had work to do but he seemed to be content watching me from his screen.

Milo turned 33 this evening:

20130314_194357_zpsa91ec7e4.jpg

Arrgh - there's an imposter in Milo's shell!

20130314_190625_zps5d85566e.jpg

As you may have guessed Milo nearly gave me a heart attack when he put on the special costume and turned into a hohotchi It's so strange not to see my oldie friend bobbing about the screen. But it was fun discovering all the different animations Milo could do as this character.

He tried on the cap and bow tie so I could get a good look at his new face:

20130314_190716_zps5ccd0bcd.jpg

20130314_190749_zps5f339523.jpg

Then he played with the ball a while before strapping on a pair of wings and having a quick flutter round.

20130314_190055_zps6c53340f.jpg

20130314_190810_zps5677aaf7.jpg

I have to admit this is actually a very cute character but I'll be happy to have Milo back to his normal (albeit slightly more wrinkly) self when he wakes up tomorrow morning.

Milo is 34 today - so no suprises there:

20130315_194003_zps5be1d4dc.jpg

He wanted to do a bit of housekeeping so I brought him a potplant from the shop but I'm afraid it gave Milo a nasty scare!

20130315_190915_zps496d4cbe.jpg

Then I realised he is the perfect size for my old dolls house so I decided to let him have a look round inside and see what it's like having his own place. Here he is in the living room next to a nice bright fire. I don't know what he thought about sharing the space with two dogs...

20130315_095453_zps38b4aaef.jpg

Kicking back and relaxing in a cosy armchair - it looks like it was made for him doesn't it?

20130315_095158_zpsdf17ef67.jpg

Milo had a great time but I don't think I'm ready to let him go off and live on his own yet. He's a little Mummy's boy really!

Milo is now 35:

20130316_193946_zps59dc19f2.jpg

The v4 I ordered off Ebay arrived about a week early! The only problem? Well it turns out that my v4 is actually a v4.5 in a v4 shell. It was advertised as a v4 by the seller and has the v4's antenna (no star) but when I started it up I discovered it has all the v4.5's games, characters and jobs. Because I thought what I'd ordered was a v4 I also brought a v4.5 from another seller on ebay which should be arriving in the next week so I guess I now have two v4.5s! And just today I brought a v4 to replace the one I never got. So I guess that means pretty soon I'm going to have a LOT of tamagotchis... I don't know how I'm going to decide which ones to run (except for Milo of course, I'll never stop running him).

Anyway, I hatched my v4 - I mean v4.5, and got a little baby girl which was a nice suprise as I always seem to get boys. I named her Scout after the main character in "To Kill a Mockingbird" which I'm currently writing a gcse English controlled assessment on.

20130316_083658_zps2348e48b.jpg

She aged up into a kinda weird looking toddler. Does she look like an onion to anyone else? Now Milo finally has a friend to connect with I was keen for them to meet. He acted like the wonderful big brother he is and gave her a present to welcome her to the family:

20130316_145141_zps1c77c47c.jpg

They seem to get on well but Milo's best friend is still his action figure.

20130316_150754_zpscc2d73ae.jpg

20130316_150730_zps41d3cf3e.jpg

He seems a lot more chatty with his toy than Scout. Maybe he's just shy? He has been an only-tama all his life after all...

20130316_150801_zps21aac868.jpg

I think Milo might be a little jealous of Scout to be honest but he needn't worry, he'll always be my favourite. I also have to admit that I prefer the v3 to the v4/v4.5. It just seems like tamagotchis got less pet-like with all the extra features and I prefer the characters and games on the v3. Also, I miss the light switch as it's one of my favourite features on the older connections. But don't get me wrong, I love my v4.5 and Scout will probably make more guest appearances in Milo's log in the future. Have a picture of her at preschool for now:

Well I had fun running through the pouring rain this morning. Why is it never sunny in England? Milo at least had the right idea though and was quick to take out his umberella despite being nice and dry in his shell!

20130317_174857_zps5845c0f8.jpg

Later he showed me a composition he had made up on the drums. I love how concentrated and earnest he looks! My little music prodegy in the making - I should have called him Motzart (although that would never have fit).

20130317_174756_zps835bdde3.jpg

I made him a cradle out of fimo clay this afternoon. It even has his name on it! Here's Milo sleeping in it. He looks comfortable enough, I think it gets his seal of approval.

20130317_190056_zps04069542.jpg

As for Scout, she evolved into a ura young furawatchi today and went to school for the first time. I'm a little worried about Milo glitching up and marrying her so I think I may keep their connecting to a minimum. Yes, I know he's old enough to be her great great (repeat that a few times) grandfather but well, he is a handsome tama after all...

Milo is 37:

20130318_201639_zpsa7dcfe44.jpg

Guess what? Today I finished my gcse English language controlled assessment on "To Kill a Mockingbird"! Milo has been at my side through the whole experience and I don't know how I would have got through it without him. He was even inspired to read some of the book himself:

20130318_201526_zpsaf9a8840.jpg

20130318_201758_zps63aa749c.jpg

He's a very knowledgable tama now and was keen to tell Scout all about her namesake (the main character in the book). I only take Milo to school with me because I figure Scout gets enough education at tama-school and he goes everywhere with me anyway.

Milo turned 38:

20130319_194628_zps993d6bbf.jpg

Today my other v4.5 arrived in the post! I hatched a baby boy who I called Boo (I know, another "To Kill a Mockingbird" name). As he's a boy I figured he would make a good friend for Milo because there's no danger of any accidental marriages happening. Here they are meeting for the first time, it's so strange seeing Milo in a different shell:

20130319_191453_zps3f12fdb9.jpg

It was a nice change for Milo to have a pal to play games with. He won most of the games and at the risk of sounding like a biased Tama-Mum I have to say I was very proud of him. Doesn't he look like he's having fun?

20130319_191530_zps478591ff.jpg

20130319_191333_zps065d5f2d.jpg

After meeting so many new friends I think Milo was happy to get a little alone time back in his shell.

20130319_191022_zps07a687f0.jpg

Milo is 39 today:

20130320_194357_zps74196e4b.jpg

I just figured something interesting out! Well, you might not think it's interesting but I do (warning - I am quite a boring person). So I noticed that Milo always seems to look slightly different on the v4.5s' screens when he is connecting with them. I couldn't help thinking he looked a little grumpy and slightly less friendly than when he's on his own v3's screen but I put that down to the screens having different pixels or something. Anyway, I then had a closer look at Milo on one of my v4.5s' friends lists and guess what? I was right, he does look different! Just look carefully at Milo's eyes. When he is on his normal v3's screen his eyes appear as two horizontal lines:

20130320_062925_zps6f847a88.jpg

Now compare that to how he looks on the v4.5's friends list. On the v4.5 his eyes seem to have eyelids. They're not two horizontal lines anymore but look more like two right-angles stuck on his face.

20130320_062813_zps94abe2c5.jpg

Here he is connecting with my v4.5 and as you can see his sprite has the same "right-angle" eyes as above on the v4.5's friends list.

20130320_063225_zps9d0dd0b7.jpg

So that means ojitchi has a slightly different sprite on the v3 to the v4.5! That might not be Earth-shattering news to anyone and I guess it's pretty difficult to tell them apart but a mother notices everything! I'm so glad Milo is a v3 (apart from it being my favourite version) because I like that version's ojitchi sprite so much better. It's only a tiny difference to the shape of the eyes but I think the v3's sprite is so much cuter and more friendly looking. For some reason the v4 one just looks angry... No offence meant to any v4 ojitchis out there, honest!
