Milo is 40 years old today:

Wow, where did all that time go? I can't believe Milo grew up so fast. Don't worry though, he's not feeling his age yet. Here he is looking cute wearing a t-shirt... You're never too old to make a fashion statement!

Milo turned 41 today:

20130322_194118_zps9eb9be8c.jpg

We brought a shovel from the shop and had a quick dig around to see what we could find.

20130322_064759_zpsd88dd02e.jpg

I was slightly wary of snakes but as it turns out today was Milo's lucky day - 300 points! If only I could dig that up in the garden.

20130322_064808_zps121d1c03.jpg

Unsuprisingly Milo was a very pleased little guy.

20130322_064811_zps26031e02.jpg

You may be interested to hear that Scout and Boo got married to each other this morning. The odd thing? Well, Boo is still a teenager! I've heard of this happening before but I have to admit I was quite suprised. I guess I shouldn't have been worrying about Scout marrying Milo after all, she clearly goes for the younger men.

20130322_065301_zpsfb256ef8.jpg

Guess who's 42 today? Milo is now the meaning of life the universe and everything (read The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy).

20130323_194329_zps601e9e94.jpg

Milo was feeling particularly nurturing so I brought him a pot plant to look after from the shop.

20130323_190934_zpsca412f04.jpg

I don't know what sort of fertiliser Milo used but that plant was suddenly very alive! Maybe there really is something in talking to plants. Or it could just be him going dotty in his old age!

20130323_190938_zps92b2705e.jpg

Milo has reached the respectable old age of 43:

20130324_194511_zpseae9c624.jpg

We played with Milo's RC duck toy for a while today. It's good to see he still has good eye-hand coordination. His eyesight's not going yet!

20130324_191058_zps7d6787aa.jpg

Unfortunately he then crashed the toy:

20130324_190111_zpsdd113c79.jpg

Milo was not a happy tama and I couldn't persuade him to play again - I guess he's just a sore loser.

20130324_190045_zpsab4c38dc.jpg

Milo is 44:

20130325_194532_zps33ef8c2e.jpg

Now Milo's older he's got a little more attitude. Here he is rocking out to his er... Tama-pod?

20130325_190512_zps687ae608.jpg

I wonder what his favourite music is? Hmmm maybe rap. Whatever it is he looks happy!

Milo turned 45 today:

20130326_194256_zps3e407c8f.jpg

Now he's been around so long I felt he needed to be able to keep track of the time so I got him a cuckoo clock. Milo was very interested and stood watching it tick for a while. He looked a little impatient, I wonder what he was waiting for... Can tamagotchis be late for anything?

20130326_185804_zps7ca707d0.jpg

20130326_185940_zps6aeb939a.jpg

Suddenly something made him turn around.

20130326_190020_zps8af8e32a.jpg

And out of the clock popped a little face! It opened and closed its beak seven times to mark the hour before disappearing again.

20130326_190024_zpsfe8133b8.jpg

I don't know why but for some reason I find this item very cute. I think it was educational for Milo to learn how to tell the time too!

Milo is 46 now:

I brought him some darts from the shop and he had fun pretending to be a ninja. It's good to know he still has sharp eyesight but I can't help wondering what Milo was aiming for. Just call him Bond... Milo Bond, licensed to be a very cute tama!

Milo is 47:

Today my v4 arrived in the post! I hadn't expected it for a least another week so as you can imagine I was very happy. Milo was also keen to be introduced to Calum, his new neighbour. Milo invited him round to his shell and they spent some quality time together.

20130328_193232_zps50caf04d.jpg

Unfortunately Calum presented him with a snake and poor Milo was sad and a little shaken up.

20130328_193835_zps3fe59059.jpg

But I reminded him that Calum is still only a toddler and doesn't know better so it's his responsibility to act the grown up. A little reluctantly Milo tried to be friendly again and brought him a present as a peace offering. I think my two boys will be getting along a lot better now in the future!

20130328_193852_zpsabae0536.jpg

Today was mine and Milo's final day of school and we now have three weeks of holiday to look forward to. I'm glad to finally have so much free time to spend on him.

Milo should have been turning 49 today but yesterday this happened:

20130329_184712_zps36efc757.jpg

I put a new battery in straight away but instead of turning 48 yesterday like he should have, Milo stayed 47. I guess his last "save point" before his battery ran out must have been when he turned 47 so we ended up losing a day. Anyway, he's 48 now:

20130330_192343_zpscea31995.jpg

Even though I've had to change his battery before it still freaked me out when an egg popped up on the screen. But I pressed "download" and Milo was back! I know it sounds silly but I honestly can't imagine what I would do without him anymore.

Here he is working on his fitness:

20130330_191858_zpse8b052b0.jpg

Maybe he's hoping to build up a bit of muscle! Hmmm I don't think he'll be winning the olympics anytime soon.

Milo is 49 today:

20130331_195658_zpsead88780.jpg

Happy Easter! Although he can't eat chocolate eggs, Milo wanted to celebrate in his own way.

20130331_191114_zps4450e5fb.jpg

One of my favourite items on the v3 is the gramophone. It has a retro feel to it which I guess suits Milo, seeing as he's an oldie. Perhaps it reminds him of his childhood?

20130331_185542_zpsf1776f49.jpg

"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" started playing and neither Milo or I could help singing along.

20130331_185535_zps8be73181.jpg

I think he likes it as much as I do, look at him grinning!

20130331_185843_zpse6cfdf71.jpg

Milo is half a century old today, I can't believe I've had him so long:

20130401_201857_zps25a8ca30.jpg

I was going to take some pictures of him today but the hour went forward here in England on Sunday and well... I lost track of time. Only I could get jetlagged in my own country! Anyway, Milo knew what the right time was and went to bed at eight as usual so didn't want to play. At least he looks adorable though :D .

Milo is 51 today:

20130402_195612_zps5ccfd2e1.jpg

We had a quiet morning in and watched Breaking Dawn Part 2. Yes that's right I admit it, I'm a Twilight fan and proud - so shoot me! Being a very manly tama Milo wasn't to keen to join me in drooling over Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson... Oh and Kellan Lutz of course! I'll make a Twi-hard of him yet, mark my words :D .

Milo turned 52 this evening:

20130403_195947_zpsa983203f.jpg

Here he is going for a healthy jog in his trendy new trainers. Got to do some cardio to keep that tama-heart fit and pumping!

20130403_173758_zpscfa4150c.jpg

Look at him speeding past - he's practically a blur on the screen. I have to say he's very well preserved for his age.

20130403_173749_zps11059aff.jpg

Milo's face was very deturmined and he showed no signs of tiring out. Soon he'll be giving Bolt a run for his money!

Today Milo came with me to Chessington World of Adventures. I think he enjoyed all the rollercoasters although the endless queuing in the freezing cold bored us both. I think he's a thrill-seeker at heart really, he likes to feel the adrenaline running through his um... Pixels?

Milo is now 53 years old:

20130404_195851_zpsae35005b.jpg

Today Milo and I went to see the West End play "The Woman in Black" which we both enjoyed. I was glad to have Milo there with me for moral support and we both almost jumped out of our skins (in Milo's case I suppose I should say shell) when the woman in black suddenly appeared on stage. I had to assure him it was only a story to calm him down, here he is reading the programme:

20130404_191244_zpsd9d9df16.jpg

Milo is 54 now:

20130405_195954_zpsb85f9500.jpg

He brought a pot plant from the shop and we waited apprehensively for it to grow in case it blossomed into something unpleasant like a snake.

20130405_184353_zps4351555d.jpg

Luckily Milo was rewarded with a bag of money and we could both breath a sigh of relief. It was wonderful to see his little face light up like that, I guess it's every mother's wish to see their child happy!

20130405_184356_zps4e65d7dd.jpg

100 points! Talk about a green thumb, maybe Milo could try growing a few plants for me in the future.

20130405_184359_zpse7582c9d.jpg

I think he has high anticipations for what he will spend his money on.

Milo is 55 today:

20130406_200430_zps0a27de9f.jpg

A lamp and a fishing pole popped up in the shop and Milo was eager to snap up both. First we tried out the lamp and were greeted by a genie who looked very suprised at being woken up.

20130406_195807_zps1719c5f2.jpg

We waited to see whether he would be angry or thankful to finally get a bit of fresh air after being stuck in that stuffy old lamp for so long. There was a sudden flash of darkness (can you say a "flash" of darkness? Well I'm going to anyway...) which didn't seem to bode well.

20130406_195814_zpsd260caf6.jpg

But I guess we caught Mr Genie in a good mood because he very generously doled over a bag of money. Milo was very smug - he tried to deny he was ever afraid although I know him so well I can always tell.

20130406_195822_zps262ee114.jpg

Next, Milo got out the fishing rod and cast it out into the apparently invisible ocean of pixels just off the screen. I sometimes wonder what that ocean looks like never having been able to see it. Perhaps that's where the tamagotchi ocean sprites live. Anyway he pulled and pulled and finally reeled in...

20130406_200002_zpscd19017f.jpg

...A tin can?

20130406_200007_zpsd3d95939.jpg

We tried again and had a bit of better luck as Milo actually managed to catch a fish! I was very proud although it soon disappeared off the screen. I guess Milo must have put it back in the ocean, what an eco-friendly tama he is!

Milo turned 56 today:

20130407_200003_zps8e9fddef.jpg

There's not much to report for today as Milo had a bit of a lazy day. Here he is watching some tv:

20130407_192156_zps5f5491bc.jpg

He definitely enjoyed himself!

20130407_192200_zpse8706640.jpg

Milo's battery ran out yesterday and you know what that means. That's right, he didn't turn a year older yesterday. So although he should have been turning 58 today he only turned 57:

20130409_174912_zpsab6cf01f.jpg

We went fishing again together which was actually pretty relaxing.

20130409_175617_zps4d4cc7cc.jpg

Well it was until Milo felt something big tugging on the end of the line. There was a pretty tough struggle and the fish seemed to be trying to pull Miko off of the screen but he won in the end and reeled in...

20130409_175647_zps652c58d4.jpg

... An absolutely massive fish! It was more like a whale really although I know fishermen always exaggerate (but Milo has photographic evidence to prove it!).

20130409_175650_zps50d43451.jpg

But although Milo had seemed in control at first the fish didn't stop there and continued moving forwards. It almost squashed him into a flat tama-pancake! It seems Milo came out of that particular encounter unscathed however because he was soon bopping about on the screen as normal and the fish was thankfully no where to be seen.

Milo is 58:

20130410_175951_zps2cfdc716.jpg

Now that he's such an um... Mature tama his hair is beginning to thin a little. In fact, whisper it quietly but it's virtually non-existant (although he likes to think that comb-over fools everyone!). Milo tried out a wig despite being adamant that he doesn't need it anyway:

20130410_175336_zpsc9a1f3d4.jpg

It allowed him to experience what it is like to have the luxurious locks of his youth. I think it made him feel quite young again - it certainly brought out the rocking rebellious teen in him!

20130410_175344_zpsf6e58e6d.jpg

Milo is 59 right now:

20130411_165642_zpsf74a1997.jpg

As I keep reminding him, it's very important for him to have his five a day! Having all those vitamins and minerals should keep him healthy, maybe that's why he's managed to live so long. Here he is munching on a cherry:

20130411_164658_zpsdb749452.jpg

A cherry a day keeps the tama-doctor away! Or hopefully it will help him live to be 60 tomorrow anyway...
