Actually, real life babies and toddlers do those too(Eating, sometimes they poop on the floor, and nannies look after them if the mom was in work).I cant believe they said that.Maybe they did stuff like that when they were babies, and if they did, they are saying those "unappropriate words" to themselves.

OMG    I can't beleive they called the legendary Tamagotchi that! I am totally outraged! I don't care if they are closed minded or just plain nutty. It was the toy of the year in 2006! Why CNET, Why??

O: How dare they? Those...little......grrr.....The Tamagotchi is one of the most superior toys around! Have they not heard of Tamagotchi.com? They get over 1,000 visits by people ALL OVER THE WORLD each day! People dedicated to which toy? THE TAMAGOTCHI.

They are just plain nutty >.<

Yes They are demanding, yes they need food. But what do you expect its a Virtual toy that needs care and your attention. What did those dorks think it could take care of its self? Its like they're saying children are a disgrace, thats what tamagotchis practicly are, kids who need FOOD AND CARE! oh well its their loss, they don't know how much fun we all have with them

CNET is a bunch of whacked up people. GIVE TAMAS A CHANCE! Kids get so much from this toy. They learn repsonsibiliy and make new friends (I've made lots of friends with people just because they have Tamas!). Maybe they should actually get a Tamagotchi and play with it for a week and THEN judge it.

Your right, all of you.You also get to learn responsibility, like what if you cant even take care of a tamagotchi? Then if you buy a pet, it will be HARDER.So are real life kids.Hard to take care of, but not a disgrace. You will be happy with them. And tama_princess you are right.Real kids need food, care, etc. to live.So do tamagotchis.Virtual pets are like fun type practices for real pets or children.

Exactly :ichigotchi: They are great and fun responsiblity. They are fun! And no one can stop us from liking to care for something.

They are, well, WRONG!

Who would even think of the idea to come up with 'Top Ten Terrible Products'? That is just wrong. What about the other 9 products they rated? We can't just sit here - we have to take ACTION to this, well, beyond ultimately undescribably wrong thing going on!

Yes, I have found this article long ago. I've always despised criticism that does not say what is needed to improve. This article is just rubbish talk, not at all 'constructive criticism' that can actually lead to further improvement. I've even composed a complaint towards this article below (I need LOTS of editing. When I wrote this I felt really angry and impulsive and stuff and it turned out really mean and nasty and rude. So, edit edit EDIT! OK, here's part of my incompletely edited copy. I've also written complaints about their description of Sony Rootkit CD and Gizmondo):

Complaint to CNET on Review of “Top Ten Terrible Tech Products”

To Whom It May Concern:

I hereby state a complaint to the article “Top ten terrible tech products” that was published on crave.cnet.com at November 20, 2007. This article can be highly offensive to the creators and fans of the products that were so-called “tech failures”, and provides inaccurate information about some of them. The language used to describe those products is so full of wit and irony that in these enlightened days should only be used by blackmailers. In another article where CNET staff has once again rated the top ten worst inventions, it was mentioned that you “had more fun picking out the worst inventions” than when you were actually being positive and selected the top ten best ones. Sounds like when you were young you were bullies who enjoyed pick on other children that you thought were “weaker” than you – and that habit lasted until now.

The reason why I am outraged at your behaviour is mainly because the offensiveness of the topic and the way the writer viewed everything with such a negative attitude. In my opinion, the only origin of articles like this i.e. rating the worst (insert item name here) must be the excessive pessimism of people who label themselves as “specialists” and often hates the world today and its modern technology with a passion. Why can’t you look on the bright side more often and list more of the wonderful things about those tech products? Negative articles like this, are what I have mentioned above, signs of pessimism and depressiveness. Please, if you wish to do something like this next time, which I hope you will never again after reading my complaint, use constructive criticism and discuss what they can improve on instead of simply telling readers that they are rubbish like you did. How would you like it if your top favourite gadgets are being earbashed like this? Well, no!

Here is my defence for some of the products included in your article, which is actually what should really get thrown in the trash:

Review on Tamagotchi:

This review is by far the worst and most offensive I have read in this article. I myself is a great fan of the Tamagotchi virtual pet, and would not allow anybody to describe it using swear words. Why are you using swear words anyway? It is as rude when letters are substituted by asterisks as when they are not. Your whole site could be closed for doing that if an official sees what you have written. Back on topic, the Tamagotchi does NOT deserve comments like this. I believe that it is the best thing ever invented! Tamagotchis teach their owners caring and responsibility, and also, throughout my experience of caring for them, also gives a sense of purpose. Whenever I feel down, my Tamas remind me that there is something in the world needing to rely on me. That way, I gain back the feeling that I am a special and important person whom nobody can replace. Tamagotchis don’t cause fights and arguments like you mentioned in the article, but actually help to make more friends! You obviously did not do enough, if any, research before writing up these paragraphs of nonsense. Apart from the V5, no Tamagotchi version I have ever known have characters that would wake up as early as 7am (I wake up at that time usually. Can’t believe that the article writer thinks that it’s early. Maybe they’re too lazy to get up any time before noon). The ‘oversize’ of the meals and droppings ensure that the owner can see them. Also, when Tamagotchis poop you don’t punish them – you send them to the toilet for sure! Where’s your IQ – if you have any at all? There’s this awesome function on all Tamagotchi Connections called ‘pause’, so no worry for the nannies – something everybody who researched on Tamagotchis would know. You obviously didn’t put effort into the making of this article. It’s not worth it anyway.

I hope to see more mature and sensible articles on this website.

Yours (not very) sincerely (or impressed),

Saviour of the Online World :)

What do you think about it? Sorry if some of this article seemed inappropriate. Should I send it to CNet or not? Please post your ideas on this and suggestions for improvement!

*TamagotchiCreated in 1996 by Aki Maita, Tamagotchi made manufacturer Bandai an absolute fortune. It was hugely successful and spawned countless clones. It was the must-have toy of its day. Why is it an example of terrible tech? Because it was intensely irritating.

You looked after a tiny pixellated cretin who, after eating a variety of oversized meals, left piles of dung in one corner of his screen, each as large as the creature it came from. Owners could then punish the little swine or feed it more food. It would also wake up at 7am demanding you clean the huge load it created while you were sleeping.

The little beggars disrupted classroom after classroom, caused fights in the playground and even spawned nanny services -- where unemployed housewives charged kids their pocket money to look after the useless b******* while their owners were at school.

Nothing this pointless should be spared the stinging lash of geek revisionism, regardless of its commercial success.*

This news story was posted by CNET News in 'Top ten terrible tech products'. I totally disagree with them. I am nso outraged!
Thats harsh. I don't think CNN would say a bad word.

Where did you get this information? Is it reliable ?

I don't agree with it either.

that is just extremely upsetting.......

*sigh* well...everyone has a different point of view I guess.....

I just have a feeling that CNET is gonna take this to another level.

that better not happen.......... :furawatchi:

This is so awful! This is just an opinion though, I mean lots of people love their Tamas! If they didn't ask you to clean their poo, and if they didn't cry for food then there would be no point to them!

This is outrageous, and most certainly is rubbish.

Tamasweetie, your complaint is great and I really think you should send it in. You could also tell them that tamagotchi's are much easier to take care of than regular pets, and if any of them have a puppy or a dog, they can get really messy, and no one seemed to be complaining about that. I'm not happy at all with that article.

Everybody is aloud to have their opinion.

I say they should'nt of even swore! OK, they can do it in private, but what if the readers like tamagotchis, then CNET News' reputation would highly likely go down!

Dissapointed with CNET News :D

As cruel as it may sound, I do respect that it is their opinion and no one who doesn't want to should be entitled to follow it.

Before I say this, I have my own opinion, I'm

free to say what I want to say...I kinda agree with them,

but they could have reviewed the newer ones instead, though.

I think i've commented here before, but... Oh well. :chohimetchi:

That is MEAN! How can they be so RUDE? :marumimitchi:

If they dont like Tamas, they should say it whitout swearing or anything, dont you think?! Its really disapointing!!! :marumimitchi:
