It might've been urging for somethign except food. Try playing games with it a bit, it'll make it better probably. But do you mean the beeping when you keep it close to your ear? That's just the tamagotchi's "heart" or the systems working, if it's that soft beeping, it's nothing to worry about.

Ooh yus, I know a perfect solution since this has happened to my tamagotchi a lot, however my v3's...Here, I'll just tell you: before you connect, you have to punch in a series of buttons. I think I pressed C twice or once, and it worked, it might be different for your version, might not work...
